Effective date: October 7, 2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Anychar website and Anychar desktop app. In this policy, “Anychar,” “we,” and “us” refer to the Anychar project.
Anychar currently does not provide accounts, cloud sync, or an AI model operated by us. If we introduce online services that change how data is handled, we will update this policy before those services are enabled.
2. Website Data
The website uses one necessary language preference cookie to remember the interface language you select. It expires after one year and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Website hosting and network providers may process IP addresses, request times, requested paths, browser information, and similar technical logs to deliver content, maintain security, and diagnose failures. Their retention periods and processing practices are determined by those providers.
The website currently has no account registration or information submission forms, and we do not intentionally integrate advertising, behavioral analytics, or marketing tracking scripts.
3. Local Workspace
The Anychar desktop app stores documents, assets, and version history in the local workspace you choose. By default, the Anychar project does not receive your document content, workspace usage data, or telemetry.
You are responsible for controlling access to your device and workspace and for backing up important content. Local storage does not mean that content is encrypted, automatically backed up, or inaccessible to other software on the same device.
4. MCP and External AI Services
When you use an external AI tool through the Anychar CLI or MCP, that tool may search, read, create, or edit workspace content within the operations you authorize and initiate. Agents that can run local commands can access these capabilities directly through the CLI without first configuring MCP. The Anychar CLI also starts MCP, installs Skills, and diagnoses the connection.
If an external tool uses a cloud model, relevant content may be sent to that tool or model provider. Their own privacy policies and settings govern data processing, retention, and training practices. Anychar does not control those services.
Before connecting an external tool, review its permissions, model provider, and data settings. Data already received by an external service may remain subject to its retention policy after you disconnect it.
5. Data Security and Retention
We use measures appropriate to the current scope of the website and software, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
The Anychar project does not centrally retain local workspace content. The language preference cookie is retained for the period described above, while hosting logs are retained by the relevant providers according to their operational and security needs.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the product, technology, or legal requirements change. We will describe material changes on this page and update the effective date. Review the latest version before continuing to use the relevant services.
